IT Internal Audit Specialist

Verizon Internal Audit has outstanding opportunities for highly motivated BS/MS/MBA-level Computer Science/MIS majors.  Internal Audit provides value-added risk and control advisory services that support the company’s overall business objectives.  As a member of our audit team, you will gain integrated exposure to a variety of Verizon businesses as you undertake challenging, fast-paced audit assignments.  You will learn about Verizon’s businesses in depth, obtain insights on the dynamic telecommunications industry, and interact with multiple levels of management. Internal Audit develops business leaders; the audit position is respected as an excellent stepping-stone to key roles within the company.

Job Responsibilities:Review complex business applications and networks to identify risks and key control requirementsClearly and concisely document recommendationsComplete special projects as assignedEstablish and build positive and effective working relationships with clients and teammatesTravel extensively

Candidate Qualifications:BS in Computer Science/MIS/CIS; at least a 3.3/4.0 overall GPAAbility to travel 10 - 35% Demonstrated effective leadership and interpersonal skills; contributes and excels in a team environmentDemonstrated creative and innovative solutions to strategic business issuesSuperior organizational skills to track time spent on projectsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in PC skills (preferably with the Microsoft Office suite of products)Accounting, finance, operations or recent audit experience is required

Additional qualifications for IT position: CISA preferred; MBA, CISSP a plus1-2 IT auditing work experience (Analyst)2 – 4 years IT auditing work experience (Specialist)
