Income Tax , and Sales and Use Tax Accountants

Income Tax Accountant:

 

Prepares and maintains completed tax returns and reports involved with federal and state tax liabilities.  Researches current tax laws that affect the company and presents to management.  Assists in audits and responds to questions and notices from governmental agencies. May be involved in mergers and acquisitions.  Reports to Tax Manager.  Interfaces internally with IT, Accounting, Finance, Payroll, and Legal

 

Qualifications:  Must have prior tax experience with income tax. A 4-year degree with accounting required. C.P.A. or MST preferable. Solid knowledge of with good understanding of Nexus.  Must have good communication skills.



Must be able to communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with management, peers and coworkers. 

 





Sales and Use Tax Accountant:

 

Maintains current knowledge if all sales tax laws affecting the company. Responsible for meeting all required deadlines for sales tax and assist in sales tax audits.

 

Prepares and completes tax returns and reports for sales tax returns and audits. Responsible for meeting all deadlines for monthly, quarterly and annual returns.  Maintains sales and use tax software on monthly updates. Responds to outside notices from state and local governments, customer sales tax inquiries and internal co-worker questions.  Research and review proposals and tax law changes and recommend actions that meet the business plan.   Reports to Tax Manager.  Interfaces internally with IT, Credit Department, Accounts Payable, Accounting and Sales staff.

 

Qualifications: 

Must have prior tax experience with sales and use taxes.  4-year degree with some accounting skills is desirable. Solid knowledge of State and Local issues with good understanding of Nexus.  Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
