Information Analyst, Metrics and Reporting Specialist

Performance Consulting is a highly visible internal consulting team that supports JPMorgan Chase's Operations organization and other strategic lines of business. The Production Services Group (PSG), within Performance Consulting, primarily focuses on assisting customers in improving their business performance and client profitability through analysis and periodic metric reporting (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.).

 

The Information Analyst will have the opportunity to play two primary roles on the PSG team: 
The analyst will create and maintain information reports for the senior management team of Operations. These reports typically contain the key performance metrics/indicators for each unit of Operations, PSG is accountable for producing these reports with 100% accuracy.  100% accuracy is paramount.
In addition, the analyst will perform data analysis utilizing various data sources, including Cognos (an OLAP reporting tool).  The analyses should provide actionable data that will assist Operations’ Managers in the Annual Business Planning process.  Data analyses should include trends, patterns, recurring issues and patterns.  The analyst may also have the opportunity to work with the Operation’s Business Units to identify possible solutions to the issues/problems identified.

Responsibilities include: 
Create and maintain reports for the senior management team and business unit level managers of Operations.
Identify data necessary to support daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
Analyze large pools of data to discover trends, patterns, correlations, etc. that will assist managers in making better business decisions going forward.
Engage with metric owners from each business unit to identify key causes behind data trends/irregularities.
Provide actionable data to the Operations senior management to enable them to make proactive business decisions and/or react quickly to changes in the business environment.
Identify process improvements to streamline data collection and report creation.



Required: 
Minimum 5 years experience as an Business analyst (senior analyst preferred)
Strong to expert in Microsoft Office suite: Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, etc.
Strong listening, presentation, communication and influencing skills
Strong attention to detail
Exposure to troubleshooting and debugging software
Experience with mining/gathering and manipulation
Background supporting key management decisions with clear and concise data analysis

Preferred: 
Exposure to OLAP reporting tools: Cognos, Business Objects, Excel, etc.
Exposure to analytical tools for trending/forecasting: SPSS, SAS, Minitab, etc.
Relational database experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Computer Science, or similar work experience
