Inspections Specialist

Responsibilities   • Use your skills and experience in IS auditing to participate in a vigorous program of inspections of audit engagements performed by large public accounting firms;
? Meet and interview audit firm personnel to identify audit quality issues;
? Gather and organize information to support the identified issues and communicate those issues to the firms;
? Participate in the development of inspections reports summarizing and describing the issues and potential recommendations; and
? Provide feedback and suggestions for improving the inspections process based on your increasing inspections experience.

Develop a vigorous program of both regular and special inspections relating to the audit of publicly traded companies;
? Oversee audits of financial statements to the highest standards of quality, independence, and ethics;
? Fully execute all facets of inspection programs (interviewing audit firm personnel, communicating and reporting issue identification, findings, and recommendations);
? Enhance and share expertise through detailed industry research and/or regulatory activity; and


 

Qualifications

 

Current CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license required;
? At least 6 years of progressively responsible experience at the Senior Manager/Manager level in the audit of publicly traded companies;
? Bachelor's degree in Accounting; MBA/Master's degree a plus;
? Knowledge and expertise with industry standard testing tools; incident tracking tools a plus;
? Ability to work independently and as a member of a team;
? Strong verbal and writing communication skills; and
Superior IS audit, leadership and communications skills;
