Intermediate Accountant

The intermediate accountant is responsible for the moderately complex accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant managerial reports and financial statements. In addition, the intermediate accountant will serve as the liaison between the general accounting department and premium billing as well as each of the product lines functional managers regarding any revenue related issues. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: providing detail analysis of revenue activity as well as ensuring all accounts receivable accounts are reconciled according to departmental deadlines; preparing and posting moderately complex monthly journal entries, including monthly revenue, retro-activity and any manual adjustments; and reporting and reconciling revenue related activity for Government Programs (Medical Assistance and Medicare).

A bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field and at least two years of related work is required; prior revenue reporting experience a plus. Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles is also required. Microsoft Office experience with emphasis on spreadsheet application and PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate must possess good communication and organization skills as well as the ability to meet tight deadlines while managing multiple tasks.
