Acting as an independent and objective department, the Internal Audit Department provides services designed to create or enhance existing processes and business activities of UPMC. The department evaluates how well current methods achieve their stated goals against quality and efficiency standards. All positions in the department provide visibility to all levels of the organization and an opportunity to make a difference. Management regularly calls upon the Internal Audit Department to participate in consulting engagements, as well as to assist in special projects and investigations.
