Internal Audit Staff Auditor

Exelon is currently looking for a Staff Auditor for our Chicago office. The qualified candidate will be responsible for the following:

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Assists in performing audits to determine propriety and efficiency of control structure and operating processes, including recommendations for improvement in processes and controls.

Assists in the performance of special reviews at the request of management.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
Assist in planning the development of audit scope, objectives and audit program; assist in determining audit procedures to be used.

Assist in assessing operating processes and develop conclusions about their effectiveness; identify key control points of systems.

Review transactions, documents, records, and methods for accuracy and effectiveness; conduct interviews and observations and complete asset verification.

Assist in developing risk assessments for critical business processes; assist in preparing appropriate audit plans.

Assist in preparing oral presentations and/or written reports supporting results of audit examination, conclusions, and recommendations.

Assist in the post-audit follow up to determine adequacy of corrective actions taken.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
LEVEL OF EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Accounting, Engineering, Business or related field.

Two to five years experience in an Accounting or Auditing position or equivalent degree.

Professional accreditation, e.g. CIA, CPA, CISA.

Advanced degree a plus.

PC Skills (experience in word processing, spreadsheet applications, and flow charting preferred).
