Internal Control Sarbanes Oxley Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of the SOX Compliance Analyst is to help the company comply with the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 and develop the proper Internal Controls.  The scope of this position includes developing, updating and validating the company?s SOX narratives, SOX flowcharts, and SOX risk matrixes throughout the year to ensure that the Company?s internal controls are appropriately documented and validated.  The SOX Compliance Analyst, will be required to communicate any identified design and operating deficiencies to the applicable operating units, Company?s Audit Committee and Senior Management.

? Accounting policy and procedure development and compliance.

? Create and update the various location?s SOX documentation through interviews with accountable owners and process owners.

? Perform audit testing of key controls to validate their operating effectiveness.

? Help with remediation efforts, as they become known.

? Develop company?s internal controls and the financial reporting consolidation.

? Maintain Project Plan and timelines.

? Keep abreast of changes in SOX and accounting regulations and comparable firms? methods for SOX compliance.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

? 3-5 years of audit experience, Internal Control development and prior SOX compliance experience including familiarity with the established SOX documentation, remediation and testing process.

? Possesses superior internal control and audit skills.

? Must be process oriented and can produce process flow charts.

? Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field is required.  MBA preferred.

? CPA preferred.

? Desktop software expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

? Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

? Strong organization and inter personal skills.

? Deadline oriented and strong attention to detail.
