Position Description:
The position will be filled at the Director or Partner level based upon the background and experience of the individual who is hired for the position. He or she will be responsible for:
Providing timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations.
Delivering timely, high quality, and profitable services, that appropriately utilize Firm and client resources.
Attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.
Keeping lines of communication open with staff and clients.
Providing appropriate and timely performance feedback to those supervised.
Anticipating and addressing client concerns and escalating problems as they arise.
Demonstrating commitment to the Firm?s People Philosophy by modeling appropriate behaviors, and acts with respect and dignity in interactions inside and outside the Firm.
Promoting new ideas and business solutions that result in new clients for the Firm or extended services to existing clients.
Keeping abreast of latest developments as they affect GAAP and the Firm?s standards and policies.
Ensuring professional development through ongoing education and obtaining additional certifications as appropriate.
Position Requirements:
To be considered, candidates should have:
Minimum of seven years or more tax experience with a public accounting firm.
Practice development skills and experience (as outlined below)
Technical expertise (as outlined below)
Strong people skills (as outlined below)
CPA certification
Masters of Taxation or completion of other post graduate tax or law degree
Ability to travel on a limited basis (estimated as being 10% or less)
Fluent in Spanish
Practice Development Focus:
Growth and sales driven with the demonstrated ability to sell $200,000 or more of new and extended services annually.
Strong desire to start and develop a practice
Entrepreneurial mindset
Proven practice development experience including developing new clients, selling extended services and COI (centers of influence) network development
Outgoing with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Technical Expertise:
Experience with or "focus" on middle market clients ? includes extensive work with C and S-corp.'s, LLC's, partnerships and expatriate and non-resident individuals
Strong attraction to and desire to work in international tax
International tax experience that goes beyond compliance ? must include planning and implementation including foreign tax repatriation and credit planning, worldwide effective tax rate management strategies, acquisition and disposition of internationally active businesses, export sale tax strategies and significant experience working with US and foreign country tax treaties
Requires strong US tax foundation with significant experience with tax laws under Subchapter C, Subchapter S, Subchapter K including reorganizations and entity selection experience
People Skills:
Proven ability to manage personnel on projects of varying sizes (ranging from $1,000 - $50,000 or more)
Proven ability to develop and maintain talent - must have track record of mentoring personnel and advancing staff/manager's careers
Proven ability to develop relationships with owners of businesses and other appropriate level client personnel (i.e. CFO, etc.)
Ability to develop relationships with all RSM employees, however, concentrating efforts on partners, directors and managers and quickly establish a significant level of trust and respect.
