Inventory Analyst/Accountant III

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Responsible for the month-end close process for assigned companies. Prepare and/or oversee preparation by Accountant I and Accountant II staff of journal entries and related supporting documentation. Coordinate submission of journal entries by business units within assigned companies. Compile monthly financial reporting schedules for assigned companies. Independently review monthly financial statements for significant variances and analyze causes for such variances. Continual interaction with BU Finance staff. Prepare commentary and lead monthly Financial Review Process for assigned companies/areas. Continually communicate regarding status and issues associated with the close process with manager, other team members, and business units throughout the close process. Responsible for account reconciliations for assigned companies. Investigate and/or oversee research by Accountant I and Accountant II staff to resolve reconciling and outstanding items timely. Prepare necessary adjusting entries before the month end close. Quarterly review of reconciliations of non-assigned accounts for departments that interact with assigned companies, i.e., Inventory, and Royalties. Communicate unusual reconciling items or other issues identified to appropriate team members, business units and others within the organization. Participate in special projects and information requests. Training and Self Development. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Required: BS degree in Accounting or Finance 4-6 years experience preferred in accounting as an Accountant II or experience in analytical and decision making functions, prioritizing and performing multiple complex tasks in a business environment.  Excellent communication skills Advance knowledge of PC programs:  Excel, Word, and Access.  Remain current on accounting pronouncements.  Must have excellent organizational and analytical skills.

 

Preferred: CPA/CMA designation preferred. Basic knowledge of Monarch and PeopleSoft
