Inventory Coordinator

SummaryThe Inventory Coordinator is responsible for assisting in inventory planning for the Career and Professional Group. Major accountabilities include downloading & analyzing data, scheduling and facilitating inventory meetings and making print recommendations. This candidate would also manage daily inventory reports such as the re-order point report as well as be responsible for the communication of print quantities via the Thomson IPS system.Description?Prepare and maintain inventory planning spreadsheets for core and supplement products in Excel for specific publishing groups within CPG. Download data utilizing Access, update formulas when necessary, add new ISBNs to master spreadsheet and remove canceled ISBNs. Incorporate relevant information such as Int?l/Domestic forecasts, customer universe, estimated out of stock dates and adoption information etc.
?Provide analysis on obsolescence risk factor vs. unit cost.
?Analyze downloaded data and make recommendations to Inventory Management.
?Add value to purchasing/inventory discussions which take place at the meetings by pointing out trends and providing analysis. This person should be able to meet the unique needs of each publishing group and their primary markets (higher education, school, retail etc.).
?Regularly monitor stock by reviewing a re-order point report.
?Check for inventory receipts every morning, spot check unit costs of receipts. Notify TLMS Receipts and Manufacturing to correct errors.
?Identify and resolve problematic receipts.
?Check for stale dates.
?Handle Int?l orders that have canceled due to rights restriction.
?After monthly inventory meetings, manage the communication of those decisions to Manufacturing and Production.
?Manage print decisions and communication in IPS.
?Run ad-hoc reports as needed such as providing a list of discontinued titles to appropriate personnel, providing a list of upcoming reprints as needed.
?Assist CPG management with inventory issues relating to new acquisitions.
Qualifications?Prefer 1-3 years inventory planning/systems experience.
?Proficiency in Excel and Access.
?Superb analytical skills.
?Strong attention to detail and follow up skills.
?Solid organizational, interpersonal/communication skills.
?Superb multi-tasking skills.
?Able to work under strict deadlines.
?Possess excellent decision making skills.
?Ability to work independently.
?Four year college degree required.
?Familiarity or exposure to accounting a plus.
?Knowledge of the Computer Technology markets a plus.
?Knowledge of AS/400 mainframe and JDE a plus.
