Job Cost Accounting Supervisor

Austin Bridge & Road has an immediate opening for a Job Cost Accounting Supervisor. This opportunity is located in Austin Texas with initial training in Irving Texas for approximately the first six months.  This person will be responsible for supporting jobs costs, subcontract administration, job billings and accounts receivable; supervising two employee-owners; assisting in the input of quantity data, job cost entries, monthly billings, subcontract vouchers, various weekly and monthly job cost reports, and file maintenance to ensure accurate and timely cost information.  Assist and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance to GAAP and company requirements.  Other responsibilities of this position include:  Oversight of office administrative functions for the Austin location. Responsible for the preparation of monthly Performance Reporting reports to ensure accurate and timely financial information to management that meets Austin Industries? Performance Reporting requirements. Responsible for Job Cost files in the current accounting software, including the addition, revision or deletion of projects to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. Responsible for the processing of any local, private, state or federal forms needed to perform or complete any projects. Responsible for proper record retention and maintenance in order to meet state and federal requirements. Assist in the preparation of schedules for periodic audits by Internal Audit and by an outside CPA firm. Assist as needed in testing of any changes in the current accounting software. Assist, train and mentor direct staff, Project Managers and Field Office Managers.  Other duties as assigned by management.

 

A person qualified for this position would posses five years accounting and management/supervisory experience, BBA in accounting ? CPA or MBA and construction accounting experience would be a plus, Microsoft office software experience ? Oracle?s Discoverer a plus.  The ideal person for this position would have a ?take charge? attitude and be proactive, assertive with the ability to multi-task
