Leased Assets Tax Manager

CITY: Danbury STATE: Connecticut COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
*Maintain and analyze federal and state tax aspects (depreciable lives, methods) for leased assets to support the preparation of federal and state income tax returns.
*Manage all aspects of tax accounting for leased assets including monthly, quarterly, and yearly federal and state income tax provisions.
*Prepare leased asset data for use in estimated tax returns and long range tax forecasts.
*Monitor 40% test and 2% test compliance on a regular basis.
*Manage quarterly account reconciliation process for leased assets.
*Research and compile information as requested by CTO in response to Information Document Requests (IDRs), Notices of Proposed Adjustments (NPAs) and other communications with the IRS relating to leased assets.
*Identify and track leased asset issues requiring qualified amended returns (QARs); coordinate and prepare QARs.
*Coordinate with controller's group and integration team to integrate asset and stock acquisitions and assess issues (e.g. allocation of purchase price, integration) and ensure the proper computation of deferred taxes for purchase accounting of leased assets.
*Support domestic business dispositions and asset disposition transactions (e.g. basis analysis).

Qualifications/Requirements:
*Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or Equivalent
*Minimum 8+ years of experience in general federal and state income tax return compliance.
*Literate in systems and applications: Fixed Assets Systems, Ledger Packages, Microsoft Excel, Tax Return Preparation Software.
*Proactive, attention to detail, sense of urgency, and ability to be productive with minimal supervision.

Desired:
*Master of Science in Taxation and/or CPA
*Experience in leasing and/or financial services industries
