Manager, Corporate Development

Group Overview:   The Corporate Development Group oversees acquisitions, divestitures and venture investments for all of The Charles Schwab Corporation.  Group responsibilities include outlining the strategic rationale for deals, performing valuation and financial analysis, coordinating due diligence, negotiating definitive documents and tracking the performance of acquisitions and investments.  Corporate Development also performs benchmarking studies and strives to continuously improve internal processes.


 


 


Responsibilities:


 


Corporate Development is seeking a Manager whose main responsibilities will include creating and/or overseeing detailed valuation models; preparing presentations which outline the strategic rationale for acquisitions, divestitures, and investments; coordinating and administering Schwab due diligence and reverse due diligence efforts; and tracking and reporting of Schwab's acquisitions and strategic investments.  In a typical acquisition transaction this person will also work with appropriate business unit management and finance representatives to agree upon valuation assumptions and finalize a 3-year operating budget.  The position may involve some strategic work and /or benchmarking studies.  The role involves working with the business enterprises, other functional areas (e.g. Legal, Accounting, Compliance) and other areas of Finance.


 


 


Qualifications:


 


Quantitative background, including thorough knowledge of finance and financial theory

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

Can stay organized and maintain attention to detail in rapidly changing environment

Prior corporate development, investment banking, valuation consulting, or other acquisition modeling experience a plus
