Manager, Fraud Strategy

Job Description: 1. Develops, recommends and implements Fraud strategy based on customer needs and desires, competitor offerings, internal strengths and weaknesses, profitability and cost.

2. Coordinates Fraud strategy formulation and drives strategic initiatives that ensure the long-term success of the organization.

3. Manages a team of subject matter experts in Fraud strategy who support bank wide and internal initiatives specific to new acquisition and payment solutions. Provides guidance to staff by properly prioritizing initiatives based on Fraud, portfolios, Card Services and Corporate goals while ensuring timely implementation.

4. Supports and manages acquisition strategy and processes from a Fraud department standpoint. Develops relationship with acquired company’s key Fraud representatives to maintain best practices between companies.

5. Serves as point of contact for strategic decision-making and process re-engineering within Fraud.

6. Assists with evaluation of new vendor relationships and partnership opportunities as related to Fraud authentication and verification tools.

7. Conducts business case analysis for clear choice recommendations in relation to Fraud strategic initiatives that improve efficiency.

8. Compares Fraud strategy to other peers in the credit card industry through web based association tools and other research companies.

9. Ensures audit controls and compliance monitoring are in place, including processes for management of operational risk, in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards.

10. Complete other related duties and special projects as assigned; provide management direction to foster effective selection, development and reward of subordinates while contributing to initiatives in support of the Company’s Diversity programs.

Job Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Sciences, or related field.
2. Three to five years of practical business experience and managerial responsibilities.
3. Proven prioritization and organizational abilities plus excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Prior Fraud department experience and / or credit card industry background a plus but not necessary.
