SUMMARY: Direct, coordinate, and evaluate General Accounting, and Accounts Receivable teams in the performance of daily duties. Manage staff to ensure that monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounting and reporting processes occur in a timely and accurate manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties include the following items:
' Oversee preparation of monthly closing schedules, journal entries, and financial statements.
' Supervise General Accounting staff in preparation of account reconciliations, balancing of intercompany accounts, and maintenance of fixed asset system.
' Perform preliminary review of Corporate and Segment accounting and reporting requirements for month-end and quarterly closings. Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes as needed. Supervise the preparation of all tax schedules, year-end account analyses, and specific reporting requirements as requested by Corporate.
' Supervise the Accounts Receivable Analyst in the processing and collection of customer receivables in order to meet committed DSO targets. Provide customer data and independent credit information to senior management for approval of credit on prospective customers.
' Assist in the collaboration with internal and external auditors during interim or year-end audits, and with tax and government authorities where appropriate.
' Assist Controller in the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures in order to maintain an adequate internal control environment and to maximize departmental efficiency.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
' Perform other duties as assigned.
' Some travel may be required.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, interviewing and training; development of technical and leadership skills; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
' Ability to interact effectively with cross-functional departments within the Division and readily identify control or accounting issues which need to be addressed.
' Strong GAAP and analytical skills, including the ability to understand the financial impact of operational and strategic changes.
' Ability to effectively coach and manage diverse staff.
' Good communications skills in both written and oral correspondence.
' Excellent PC skills, including ERP systems, word processing and spreadsheets.
' Ability to deal professionally with confidential information.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
' Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting / Finance AND at least five years related experience in Accounting-related functions OR equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA a plus.
' Demonstrated teamwork and supervisory experience.
' Goodrich ATS Leadership and Ethics training as required by company policy.
