Manager, Inventory and Manufacturing Accounting

Manager, Inventory and Manufacturing Accounting

Located at Embrex, Inc corporate headquarters in RTP, NC, the primary function of this position is to assume responsibility for all aspects of accounting for inventories and manufacturing primarily at Embrex, Inc. and Embrex Poultry Health, LLC in Laurinburg, NC with additional review of Embrex Europe inventories and WIP.

 

 Job Responsibilities:

?  Responsible for directing, reviewing, and analyzing inventory and manufacturing transactions at Embrex, Inc. and Embrex Poultry Health, LLC to ensure integrity of financial reporting and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

?  Responsible for review, documentation and implementation of related internal controls. 

?  Creation of management reports related to inventory and work in process, including the development of standard cost reporting tools for the EPH facility.

?  Develop standard costs for the manufacturing process at EPH, LLC.  Maintain standard costs within the company?s ERP system.  Train colleagues at EPH in completion of work orders, the effects of their actions on the cost system and coordinate month end close.

?  Assist EPH staff with Rolling Forecast calculations related to cost of inventory based on standard costs.

?  Serve as the primary contact to external accountants during financial and/or internal control audits related to inventory and manufacturing accounting.

?  Troubleshoot and maintain and/or direct appropriate setup of the JDE ERP system to properly account for manufacturing, standard costs, average costs and all inventory transactions.

?  Initial training, development, and supervision of reporting positions.

?  This position requires significant involvement in the month-end financial close process including preparing original entries for accruals & allocations, coordinating the inventory close with other departments, significant account review/analysis, and distribution of internal financial reports to management.

?  Provide information to the Shipping Department to support the preparation of customs/commercial invoices for international shipments.

?  Regular attendance at Engineering Change Review and Engineering Change Implementation meetings.

?  Routine interaction with internal customers, such as manufacturing and engineering, to provide continuing education on project accounting and the proper methods for identifying and capturing capitalizable costs .

?  Support internal requests for ad-hoc reports and analysis and identify opportunities to improve upon current management reporting.

 

Qualifications:

?  B.S. in accounting required; MAcc or MBA preferred.

?  CPA or CMA certification required.

?  Five or more years of experience accounting for manufacturing inventories.

?  Working knowledge of JDE or other integrated ERP system.

?  Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

?  Ability to manage responsibilities independently and interact with individuals in other functional areas.
