Manager, Payroll

Job Description:The Manager, Payroll is primarily responsible for the maintenance and the daily operations and activities of the Payroll Department. This position is also primarily responsible for managing the payroll processing objectives including relationships with state and federal agencies and internal and external auditors.Job Requirements:

Advanced knowledge of multi-state and federal tax employment and payroll related tax laws
Advanced knowledge of general accounting principles including strong experience in reconciling General Ledger accounts.
Advanced knowledge of technical systems and skills
Strong planning and management skills
Excellent math skills in order to calculate and balance payroll data and calculate payroll taxes.
Excellent PC, Excel and Word software skills, and 10-key by touch.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent supervisory skills; ability to motivate employees and provide team leadership
Excellent research and problem solving skills including reconciliation and analysis
Ability to organize work flow and process improvement to ensure numerous critical deadlines are met

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor?s Degree in business or finance and 5-6 years related experience including 3-5 years of multi-state payroll tax experience or 11-12 years equivalent work experience.
