We are currently seeking a Tax Manager to join us in our Ft. Lauderdale office.

KPMG?s State and Local Tax (SALT) practice needs more members for their Income Franchise team. KPMG's SALT practice assists clients as they work to reduce their tax liabilities and enhance the bottom line. As a national practice, SALT is committed to bringing some of the best professionals to each engagement and providing dynamic tax services to clients.


Responsibilities:
?Assist multi-state companies with state and local tax controversies which includes preparing clients for discussions with auditors, representing the client at hearings and appeal meetings and preparing protests
?Tax planning
?Research and draft technical memoranda regarding income and franchise tax questions
?Possess technical proficiency in SALT income/franchise taxation
?Supervise, mentor, and develop staff
?Assist with targeted business development plans, refund analysis, nexus review and contractual registrations
?Oversight and delivery of large client project engagements

Qualifications:
?Five years of experience performing tax research and providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues
?Experience with other state and local tax issues
?Bachelor?s degree in Business, Accounting or a related course of study from an accredited college/university
?Excellent written, communication, and tax research skills
?Demonstrated ability and desire to perform in a high-energy team environment
