Manager of Financial Reporting

The position is responsible for coordinating all activities relating to periodic financial statements, reporting, control and analysis relating to insurance activity. This assignment requires an experienced financial professional with strong accounting skills including GAAP and Statutory Accounting.

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIESPrepare monthly, quarterly and annual insurance financial statements based on GAAP/SAP.Manage the preparation and distribution of ad-hoc, monthly, quarterly or annual reinsurance reporting packages for each insurance company.Coordinate that underwriter premium, claim and recovery information are properly recorded in the general ledger.Perform periodic internal compliance audits to ensure WASC?s PeopleSoft CRM platform is compliant with the financial reporting requirements of our underwriters and the insurance industry.Cross-train on coworker?s responsibilities.Assist in performance of special projects as assigned.



JOB SPECIFICATIONS (KSA?S)Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Highly motivated with strong leadership abilities.Ability to work independently as well as a member of a close-operating team.

? Strong proficiency in PC-based computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Access and Word.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

? Bachelor?s degree in Accounting/Finance required, CPA preferred.

? 4-8 years of working in an insurance company accounting environment.

? 3-5 years of experience of insurance financial statement preparation [GAAP&/or SAP].

? Experience with the annual statement preparation.

? Experience with Lawson and PeopleSoft software a plus.

? Experience with ?P&C? insurance a plus.
