Manager of General Accounting

Performs traditional general accounting functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, and

General ledger. Maintains or oversees the maintenance of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare reports, make general ledger entries, and review and verify accuracy of journal entries. Prepares

Income and balance sheet statements, profit and loss statements, consolidated statements, and other

Accounting Statements and Reports. May design, modify, install, and/or maintain general accounting

systems to provide records of assets, liabilities, and financial transactions. May establish and communicate accounting policies and procedures.

 

Manages Financial Reporting and General Ledger functions. The position requires technical proficiency with GAAP literature and SEC regulations.  Duties include management of process and staff to prepare and issue monthly financial statements and regular SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, etc.). Identifies, researches, and resolves technical accounting issues company-wide.  Analyzes operating results and balance sheet elements to determine and recommend profit and/or cash flow improvement opportunities. Supports external audit requirements as needed. Qualifications for this position include ten years of relevant accounting experience, including experience handling, SEC reporting requirements.  Must be a CPA.  The successful candidate will typically have a BA/BS in Accounting or equivalent.  A Master's degree and public accounting experience is a plus.

Salary/Pay Rate: $90,000-$110,000
