Network Engineer II

Successful candidate will provide engineering services of IT systems. Will design, Implement, and provide Level III Operational Support for the computer systems and/or network enviroment based on the SLA requirements of the company. Will assist in the development of industry best practic process and procedures for engineering and operations of systems infrastructure.

-Network engineering and operational support in environments of over 100 routers, 500 switches, and 1,000 remote locations.

-Accomplished intermediate level LAN routing and switching design, operation, and troubleshooting of Cisco Systems IOS and Catalyst routing and switching products. Must be able to utilize CLI for all operations when NMS servers are not available.

-At least 3 years experience providing tier-2 network engineering technical support, including direction of less experienced dispatch, vendor, and on-site personnel.

-Basic knowledge of complex WAN routing and switching architecture in a heterogenous routing protocol environment of EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.

-Basic implementation and operational ability of VPN technology utilizing IPsec, PPTP, L2TP, and SSL with an emphasis on Cisco Systems and Juniper products and solutions.

-Abstract basic understanding of firewall design and architecture to layer 4.

-Operational experience with Cisco IOS and Pix firewall products and technologies.

-At least 1 year experience structuring and directing networking and telecommunications service provider relationships, including participation in contract reviews, management of providers to SLAs, and remediation of SLA failures.

-Intermediate troubleshooting skills for Layer 1 through Layer 4 infrastructure

-Basic implemenation and operational experience with WAN connectivity solutions from DS-0 through DS-3, including broadband cable and DSL, WiFi, metro Ethernet, WiMax, EVDO, and analog dial up.

-CCNA R&S preferred
