Non profit- Accounting Manager

Position objective: Work under the supervision of the Accounting Manager to provide fiscal and administrative support to the agency Accounting Department in compliance with agency and governmental accounting requirements. Supervise department staff; Senior Accountant, AP-General Ledger, Payroll, AR-Parent Fee, Parent Service Coordinator and Provider Service Coordinator in the delivery of services to clients in conjunction with program guidelines, agency policies and with the mission of the organization. Duties and Responsibilities: 1.Supervise approximately 6 accounting & fiscal staff responsible for performing accounting & fiscal duties as well as administrative functions. 2.Responsible for subsidized parent fee integrity. This role will provide leadership, oversight and management philosophy to ensure that receivables from parent fee are collected and managed according to the goals, objectives and mission of the agency. 3.Interpret fiscal/program policy; review & verify work of accounting & fiscal staff for procedural compliance and accuracy; investigate discrepancies and correct errors. 4. Communicate and follow up with internal departments to resolve issues and determine methods for problem-solving and expediting proper solutions. 5.Provide customer service and support to external clients including subsidized parents with respect to parent fee billing. 6. Evaluate performance and ongoing development and training of fiscal staff on program/fiscal requirements, policies and professional customer services to clients. 7.Support department managers and supervisors with the administration of departmental budgets by providing a year-to-date expenditures and remaining balances. 8. Direct, develop, implement, coordinate and monitor full scope of accounting & fiscal activities and services for the agency with the approval of the Accounting Manager. These activities includes, but not limited to: complete payroll processes, complete AR processes, and complete fraud prevention and detection processes. 9.Submit a monthly report of staff attendance, activities & performance and discuss pending & unresolved issues with the Accounting Manager. 10.Assist Accounting Manager with complete agency-wide budget processes, including administration and monitoring. 11.Assist Accounting Manager with agency-wide audits & reviews in accordance with the Funding Terms and Conditions and generally accepted auditing standards. 12.Works collaboratively to Support other supervisors and management in all areas of the department, including in the absence of the Accounting Manager.
