Operations Manager

A social service Agency with over 90 years of experience serving greater Houston is seeking an effective and highly motivated individual to join our Accounting Department as an Operations Manager.

 

To qualify for this position, a candidate must have a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field along with two (2) years experience in Accounting; (experience in non-profit accounting desirable); must be proficient in using Microsoft Office and using integrated accounting system software.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

Serve as general liaison between agency accounting staff and TWS program staff.

 

Manages all financial aspects of the Agency's WorkSource contract with Houston Galveston Area Counsel

(H-GAC). 

 

Serves as liaison between Agency Accounting Department and WorkSource program staff.

 

Works with TWS program staff to develop and provide required reports to H-GAC.

 

Develops all financial information for agency responses to WorkSource RFPs.

 

Monitors contract budget and amends as necessary.

 

Reviews and analyzes TWS staffing levels versus plan and recommends amendments as required.

 

Reviews TWS purchase orders for correct coding and funds availability.

 

Reviews TWS accounting systems and FundWare general ledger regularly and proposes correcting journal entries as necessary.

 

Prepares monthly FundWare summary journal entries from TWS accounting systems.  Generates reports necessary to document the entry.

 

Works with TWS staff on accounting issues.

 

Provides training for TWS staff on proper use of accounting software.

 

Develops and maintains position descriptions for WorkSource staff.

 

Reconciles, on a monthly basis, WorkSource financial aid receipts and payments.

 

Manages Agency responses to WorkSource financial monitors and WorkSource related responses for the Agency's annual audit.

 

Assists with other accounting duties and special projects as needed.

 

Performs other duties as assigned.
