Oracle Financial Applications Manager

The qualified candidate will be responsible for developing standard and ad hoc reports from multiple systems, performing detailed data analysis and supervising and assisting with the maintenance of general ledger systems.

 

 Responsibilities:

 
Develop detailed reporting and analysis, while using Oracle's Financial Statement Generator, Discoverer, and other reporting tools, such as SQL and Actuate for management and field, to support critical decision-making.
Work across multiple systems and departments to access and manipulate large quantities of data for analysis.
Train and supervise Oracle Account Analysts, who are responsible for updating and maintaining Oracle and Lawson General ledger systems.
Support Corporate Accounting, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable and other departments by designing user tools, creating ad hoc reports, answering questions, researching system/reporting issues and providing training.
Assists with the design and maintenance of Cross Validation Rules, to govern the validity of account combinations in Oracle.
Create and maintain Business Areas and End User Layers for Discover, to assist end-users in running customized queries for analysis.
Develop and document procedures for updating the Oracle general ledger system.
Work closely with IS Developers to design and test interfaces into the general ledger system.
Develop and maintain organizational hierarchy in custom Oracle table.
Import large external files, like annual budgets, into the Oracle general ledger, often manipulating and reformatting files to be consistent with Oracle requirements.
Manage the general ledger portion of the Oracle financials database.
Complete analytical projects aimed at identifying database integrity issues, make recommendations for resolving issues identified.
Research and analyze system issues and work with IS personnel and Lawson/Oracle support to achieve resolutions.
Test and implement system changes.
Proactively enhance processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Design and comply with internal controls to protect the assets of the company.
Perform self-review to identify problems and solutions. 

Requirements:

 
Bachelor's degree and several years of related work experience.
Experience with Oracle Financials, spreadsheet programs, relational databases, and accounting. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 
Strong understanding of relational databases.
Experience with accounting/reporting software.
Advanced skill with spreadsheet and database programs.
Experience with ODBC tools like MS access, Actuate, or Crystal Reports.
SQL knowledge is helpful.
General accounting knowledge.
Problem solving skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
