P&C Actuarial Manager

Job Description -- PricewaterhouseCoopers is actively looking for a property/casualty actuarial Manager in the Actuarial & Insurance Management Solutions (AIMS) practice. We currently have an opportunity in the New York office.

The successful candidate will provide a broad range of actuarial services. Managers in AIMS lead actuarial consulting engagements for insurance, reinsurance companies and non-insurance corporations related to a wide array of personal and commercial insurance and reinsurance lines. AIMS Managers lead consulting engagements involving loss reserving and related financial reporting matters, ratemaking projects, and special projects such as: financial performance review, strategic planning and analysis, merger and acquisition valuations, reinsurance program review and expert witness testimony. Our Managers endeavor to continue the profitable growth of our practice by participating in marketing efforts and in thought leadership efforts including industry specific papers and presentations.

Our Managers also lead our actuarial teams in supporting ours audits of property & casualty insurance companies and of non-insurance companies with significant insurance exposure. As members our audit teams, our Managers work closely with our audit managers and partners to
- Develop the actuarial aspects of audit plan
- Meet with the client to understand client issues and obtain necessary information
- Review and analyze client information in order to conclude on the actuarial aspects of the audit plan
- Communicate findings in a clear, non-judgmental manner to audit team

? Bachelor's degree or Master's degree with a strong academic background in actuarial science, applied statistics, financial analysis, insurance, economics, mathematics or related quantitative disciplines.

? 5+ years of experience as a property/casualty actuary; consulting experience preferred but not required.
? Strong verbal and written communication skills.
? Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent priorities.
? Proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
? Interpersonal, management and presentation skills.
? Commitment to client service and business ethics.
? FCAS or ACAS with a commitment to achieving Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society.
? Bachelor's degree or Master's degree with a strong academic background in actuarial science, applied statistics, financial analysis, insurance, economics, mathematics or related quantitative disciplines.
