JOB SUMMARY:

The Payroll Lead is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate posting of the weekly, biweekly, and monthly payrolls into the general ledger systems of Integrated Solutions Business. ?This includes job cost distribution, headcount reporting, union payments, certified payrolls, Sarbanes-Oxley control assessment, testing and remediation. ?Provide accounting support to Regional and Branch offices, Lead Accountants, Cost Analyst and Area Controllers when needed. ?Respond and develop payroll reports upon request. ?Responsible for safeguarding sensitive and confidential information. ? ?

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: ?Assist Cost Analyst and Area Controller in researching labor job cost issues.Explaining variances of payroll expense to forecast.?? Develop various ad hoc payroll and headcount reports. Provide support to the Cost Analyst in order to accurately distribute Payroll costs to appropriate jobs, and reconcile reports received from Ingersoll-Rand to the intercompany accounts of Security Technologies.?? This position will assist with Sarbanes-Oxley testing.?? Month end closing responsibilities - provide accurate mapping of payroll expenses into the general ledger accounts, develop journal entry uploads, and post the journal entries.?

OBJECTIVES: ?Insure accurate payroll processing and distribution.??Develop and maintain a prosperous working relationship with your contacts (Lead Accountants, Regional and Branch Mgmt, ?and Area Controllers).?? Exercise good judgment in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.?? Seek out new and improved methods of performing current responsibilities.??Willingness to grow professionally, cross-train with the others, and other tasks as may be assigned from time-to-time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge & Work Experience:
Fundamental payroll and associated accounting experience with exposure to month end closing responsibilities, duties include developing and posting of journal entries and accumulating Payroll costs to jobs.? ?

Education & Minimum Years of Experience:
Associate degree in Accounting or Finance or 3 years of payroll experience including union payroll complexities. ?

Additional Skills (Computer/Technical):
Moderate to advanced computer skill in Excel spreadsheet design and Access database design. Working knowledge of Oracle is a plus, but not required.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Hours of work required: ? ? 40 hour work week, more hours required during month end closings

Travel % of time: ? Must be willing to travel first 6-10 weeks of starting this position.? After that time travel will be 2% (offsite training)
