The Payroll Coordinator is a vital role within the organization since this role is the key to processing both our weekly and biweekly payrolls, conversing with our management team to minimize errors/discrepancies and communicating with our employees on any payroll concerns or issues.This individual needs to be alert to our internal customer needs and be able to determine the level of service required for each instance.  This role reports directly to the Human Resource Manager and processes payroll for two locations - Blue Ash, Ohio and Erlanger, Kentucky. 

 

Summary

This position will compile payroll data and maintain payroll records by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the followingCompiles payroll data such as hours worked, commissions, bonuses, incentive pay, as forms of income.  Deduction of payroll taxes, garnishments, levies, and insurance to be withheld from employees? wages.Prepares and keys data into ADP & Etime systems.Work closely with Supervisors/Management to ensure payroll accuracy.Handle employee questions and concerns with extreme care and professionalism.Records data concerning transfer of employees between departmentsPrepares periodic reports regarding earnings, taxes, and deductionsMaintains all time and attendance records.  Track leaves of absence such as:  Family Medical Leave Act, Short-Term Disability, Vacations, Personal Days, etc. Documents and tracks attendance policy violations; reports excessive occurrences to HR Manager for disciplinary action.Perform weekly edits and balance all client payroll tax information. Perform a variety of tasks for quarter-end and year-end processing and reporting.Other duties may be assigned



 

Skills or QualificationsExcellent verbal and written communication skills Able to work in a fast paced, deadline driven team environmentStrong interpersonal skills when working with a diverse workforce Excellent organizational and time management skillsBasic knowledge of basic payroll laws preferred including multi-state taxesAbility to use and maintain basic office equipment (copier, fax, printer)Must be detail oriented to strive towards a 97% accuracy rateTeamwork and cross-training ability a plus

 

Education and/or Experience RequirementsAt least a High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is requiredAssociate Degree in Business or Accounting or some college preferred but not requiredAt least five years of related payroll experience is required, preferably in a manufacturing settingPrior ADP experience preferred but not requiredDemonstrated proficiency with Windows and MS Office (Word, Excel a must!)An equivalent combination of education and experience is desirable
