Payroll Garnishment/Benefits Processor

Job Description -- As an experienced payroll professional, the ideal candidate will have multi state garnishment processing experience and will have a general background in benefits and payroll processing.
? Review wages garnishments, respond to orders and process garnishments as necessary
? Work with state child support, federal and state taxing agencies as well as creditors to research and resolve issues
? Work with outside benefits vendor to research and resolve issues
? Review audit reports for accuracy
? Learn and apply Firm policies, processes and procedures
? Provide training to co-workers and new staff as needed
? Act as a subject matter expert on garnishments
? Process a variety of payroll transactions including: New Hires, Terminations, Special Payments and Transfers
? Meet service level agreements

? CPP certification a plus

? Previous experience in high volume payroll department
? Have a clear understanding of the tax impacts of pre-tax benefit deductions
? Knowledge of state and federal laws as related to wage garnishments
? Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
? Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel as well as Lotus Notes
? Knowledge of Peoplesoft HR/Payroll software and SAP or other similar payroll systems is a plus
? Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
? Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
? Ability to be flexible and a team player
? Attention to detail
? Demonstrated experience in problem solving
