Presently, we are searching for a Payroll Lead to work out of our Highland Heights, OH office.

Assist with the day-to-day payroll operations for Things Remembered. Lead a processing staff to ensure the corporate and legal processing requirement is maintained. Utilizes Payroll, Human Resources and systems knowledge to effectively partner with Finance, Human Resources and Operations to meet the needs of the business. Assist with tax and reporting functionality, G/L reconciliations, and an expert in the payroll processing area to assist the other miscellaneous payroll research issues as needed.

Payroll Process

Process/review/analyze all steps of the payroll process to ensure accurate and timely completions of payroll transactions.

Resolves issues with appropriate store/field associates regarding questions from payroll check computations.

Implement/test data/processing changes as needed to support the payroll process.

Ensure processing staff is adhering to processing standard for compliance to corporate and legal requirements.

Write ad-hoc reports as needed to analyze payroll transactions.

Maintains files of payroll data changes.

Review/analyze/audit payroll data to ensure accuracy minimize exposure by following labor laws, taxing requirements, and departmental procedures.

Maintains strictest confidentiality of data.

Providing excellent customer service to our associates and other payroll customers.

Maintains a strong working knowledge of the payroll process/company procedures and taxation issues.

Partners with Records/Benefits and other departments to resolve/improve payroll processing issues.

Work with authorized departments/field management staff to resolve associate?s payroll issues.

Perform other specialized payroll tasks.

Assist with G/L reconciliation?s on a timely basis.

Work with 3rd party vendors to resolve payroll processing issues.

Researches/summarizes data, and payroll audits to ensure conformity to company policies.

Provide additional payroll processing support as needed.

Assists with general training and development needs, including special projects.

Document new payroll procedures and modify existing as needed.

Train payroll processing staff on new procedures/routines.

Effectively responds to management requests for critical information and analysis.



Reqirements/Skills - BA in Business Administration preferred

4+ years accounting/payroll experience required

PeopleSoft experience preferred

Payroll processing experience required

Fundamental MS Excel, Word and Oracle skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills
