Payroll Leader - (F06-225 RJW)

The Payroll Leader for Actuant Corporation in Glendale, WI drives the accurate delivery of employee pay to more than 2,000 US employees. Actuant is a growing company so the person in this role is also directly responsible for implementing the Actuant payroll timekeeping and payroll process at newly acquired companies, working in coordination with Human Resources.

Qualified individuals will possess the following attributes:
Requires a four-year degree in accounting or finance with 5+ years of payroll experience (including multi-state).
3+ years of supervisory experience (minimum)
Strong project management skills.
Drive to continuously improve processes within the organization.
Demonstrated ability to independently analyze and solve a variety of payroll problems and make sound decisions.
Demonstrated capability to listen and communicate orally and in writing to a wide spectrum of Team Members, to include Actuant Leadership.
Understanding of general ledger accounting.
Ability to adapt and embrace fast-paced organizational change.
Knowledge of Ceridian Source 550 and Kronos highly preferred.
Knowledge of Federal, state, and local tax laws.
Demonstrated knowledge of executive and expatriate compensation.
Adept at handling sensitive and confidential situations.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Key responsibilities of this individual are:
Oversee day to day responsibilities of the payroll team.
Provide leadership and direction to the four payroll specialists.
Maintain open lines of communication with business units' finance and HR leaders to maintain expected level of support from Payroll.
Coordinate and manage the conversion of acquired companies' payrolls into centralized Payroll department working closely with HR staff.
Maintain Ceridian Mainframe reporting as required by HR and business units by working with Ceridian's customer service and project team members.
Manage compliance with various Federal, state & local legal and regulatory requirements
Maintain Ceridian Source 550 software and mainframe for pay codes, deductions and schedules.
Ensure proper reporting of W-2 information for all Actuant (US) employees.
Provides appropriate information to Finance, Human Resources, and other Actuant functions.
Drive simplification of processes in all areas of responsibility.
Draft policies and procedures related to payroll processing and disbursements.
Performs special analyses and investigations at the request of Actuant and Business Unit Leadership on an as needed basis.
Ensure compliance with Corporate Finance and Sarbanes-Oxley procedures and controls for Payroll.
