Payroll Manager - Orange County, CA

BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Manage a staff of 3-4 Payroll clerks
Run a 'Shared Services' organization
Manage all payroll functions for 2000-3000 employees in multiple states
and for multiple companies.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying
existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements;
advising management on needed actions.
Directs computation of pay according to company policy.
Reviews payroll to ensure accuracy and expedites work flow.
Standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of the payroll department.
Own all period end close procedures for payroll related activities
including general ledger interface and relevant account reconciliations.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational
workshops; reviewing professional networks; participating in
professional societies.
Maintains critical information in complete confidence.


Experience - External:
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Minimum 4 years experience as a Corporate Payroll Manager
Knowledge of ADP and Kronos systems
Knowledge of stock option compensation, restricted stock compensation
and deferred compensation.
Experience with multi- state payroll processing.
Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
including a team player approach. Must be able to interact with all
levels of management and supervision.
Proven track record of creating and implementing internal controls and
process improvements.
Conscientious, detail oriented and ability to manage the multiple
assignments.
Expert at designing, implementing, and refining systems to manage
complex processes and to optimize performance.
CPP Certification preferred.
Bachelors Degree in relevant field.

SAP experience
