Job Title: Manager, Payroll



work schedule is Moday-Friday.

Summary:


The purpose of this position is to oversee the accurate and timely payment of wages to all DaVita teammates while ensuring department goals and objectives are achieved, in alignment with DaVita's Mission and Core Values. Including payroll tax filing, proper accounting and accurate calculation of hours following all agency and legal requirements. The Payroll Manager position will provide day-to-day support to the Payroll Director.




Qualifications:


1. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.


2. Intermediate MS Excel and MS Word skills required.


3. Previous experience to PeopleSoft Payroll applications and environment.


4. Multi-location/ multi-state payroll experience.


5. Conversant with payroll laws and regulations regarding taxation, garnishments, overtime, etc.


6. Has participated in process flow redesign/improvements.


7. Ability to meet goals individually and in a teammate environment.


8. Demonstrated aptitude for effective delegation and coordination skills.


9. Proven ability to motivate others in order to achieve tasks and goals.


10. Demonstrated aptitude to effectively handle teammate interpersonal situations.


11. Ability to effectively collaborate with other functional areas to achieve the overall DaVita Mission.


12. Ability to maintain compliance to federal, state and other legislation.


13. Must have excellent working knowledge of payroll processes and procedures.


14. Experience with computerized time and attendance.


15. Two to four years of payroll and supervisory related experience required.

Essential Job Functions:


1. Manage the process of the time and attendance system, processing of payroll and filing of payroll taxes, and import of S&W expense into the general ledger system.


2. Active role in modifying and developing processes for better efficiencies in an in-house environment.


3. Sound understanding of payroll processing.


4. Contribute to developing best practices.


5. Manage a group of teammates including mentoring, counseling and evaluating performance.


6. Oversee monthly Payroll General Ledger close, reconciliation and analysis of General Ledger accounts.


7. Participate in the planning development and implementation of electronic documentation.


8. Establish communication and working relationship with vendors and internal customers.


9. Determine continued strategy of outsourcing payroll taxes, garnishments, etc.


10. Involvement in developing web-based tools for teammates.


11. Take an active role in providing support to divisions, regions and centers by responding to various questions and concerns and researching cost/budget issues.


12. Principle liaison for all People Services, General Ledger, Tax and Treasury issues.


13. Develop working knowledge of PeopleSoft Payroll functionality.


14. Provide vision and direction regarding evolution of the PeopleSoft Payroll application including major software upgrades, tax updates, customer requested enhancements, testing, troubleshooting, procedures, documentation and training.


15. Other duties as assigned.
