PAYROLL SUPERVISOR

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing supervision, organization and support to the Payroll department. Coordinates daily operations of staff.  Performs and supervises all aspects of Payroll processing for multiple entities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures payroll is processed timely and accurately
Ensures payroll tax returns are filed timely and accurately
Liaison with HR on all issues related to payroll
Coordinates with G/L staff in resolving reconciling items
Coordinates internal and external audits
Enforces policies and procedures and internal accounting controls
Provides leadership, assistance, and training to payroll associates to ensure they understand established policies/procedures and are trained and proficient in all aspects of payroll processing.
Prepares qualified staff for successor role in the department/company
Demonstrates respect and cooperation in all staff relationships, and a genuine willingness to prevent or resolve inter-personal conflicts.
Designs and performs tasks in ways that create efficiencies and contribute to the control of expenses without impairing the quality of service.
Initiates and participates in quality improvement teams and processes.
Demonstrates the ability to participate in and implement team decisions.

EXPERIENCE:
? Work experience in multiple location high volume payroll processing organization
? Experience with complex union contracts
? Supervisory experience preferred
? Experience with mainframe payroll applications. Kronos and Infinium experience a plus
? Experience with PC applications-Windows, MS Office, Lotus
? Strong oral and written communication skills
? Exercises good judgment and discretion
? Hospital or healthcare accounting experience preferred though not required
? CPP a plus
