Plant Accountant

Immediate need for a Plant Accountant.  Full time position with Energy company at its production facility near San Antonio.  Competitive salary plus comprehensive benefits package.

 

Position Summary-

This position's main responsibility is to perform accounting for an individual electric generation project.  Reports to the Manager of Financial Reporting, with a dotted line to the Plant General Manager.

 

Duties and Responsibilities -

 - Perform any and all duties necessary to fulfill all accounting activities of the partnership which owns the plant.

 - Provide the primary accounting contact for and service to one project in fulfilling accounting duties

 - Prepares general ledger entries

 - Handles plant payroll input to ADP

 - Handles property accounting and depreciaition

 - Assists with the plant annual inventory

 - Input accounting data into the plant monthly operating report

 - Codes and posts accounts payable invoices to proper accounts

 - Prepares and submits operating draw down certificates and related documents to the project lenders

 - Maintains a running cash balance

 - Assists with the preparation of the annual budget for the power plant with input from the Management Team

 - Assists with the preparation of the monthly forecasts of financial results

 - Prepares variance analyses of actual versus budgeted results

 - Develops and fosters the further development of and application of good internal accounting controls

 - Develops and fosters the further development of other accounting department personnel
