Premiums Analyst I (JP-928)

TRANSAMERICA REINSURANCE, a leading life and annuity reinsurer, is looking for a Premiums Analyst I (JP-928) to join our office in Charlotte, NC.  Transamerica Reinsurance is a leading provider of reinsurance and consulting services for companies which underwrite life, annuity and accident & health business.  It maintains reinsurance treaties in the United States, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.

Major Responsibilities:
* Premiums Analysts are responsible for processing premium payments for an assigned group of reinsurance customers. The process includes reviewing electronic and paper data provided by the client company to make appropriate accounting entries into our insurance management system.
* The successful analyst will also develop a cooperative relationship with the assigned client companies to insure that payments are received in a timely manner and that revenue dollars are reported to the correct legal entity of Transamerica Reinsurance.
* Analysts also identify and analyze trends in the reported financial data to protect Transamerica Reinsurance from financial volatility.
* Although part of a team, the analyst will manage financial reporting for a specific group of customers. The workload is varied, with each individual client needing different levels of attention and service. The successful analyst can manage a varied customer base and plan accordingly to meet service objectives.

 

Minimum Requirements:
* Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles. 2-3 years work experience in accounting or other financial analysis role.
* Superior work management skills, with proven ability to organize personal efforts to achieve service objectives.
* Strong analytical skills. Ability to identify and resolve issues.
* Strong oral & written communication skills.
* Proficient PC skills in using Word and Excel. Access a plus.
* Available to work overtime as needed.
