Private Equity Analyst

A world class investment bank in New York City seeks a Private Equity Analyst. Responsibilities include: Perform periodic tax basis and/or GAAP basis accounting closings for the partnerships, including maintenance of books and records, valuation of publicly traded and non-public investment portfolios and review of cash and brokerage records. Prepare periodic financial statements for the partnerships, including statements of partner's capital, cash flows, schedules of investments and footnotes. Perform annual tax accounting for the partnerships and administer the related '1065' tax returns and K-1 reporting. Identify and resolve partnership legal, tax and accounting issues, including foreign and non-resident partner withholding tax consequences and coordination with financial reporting and tax auditors. Communicate and work with the Private Equity business unit and the firm's finance, administration and operations areas (such as Investor relations, Treasury, Tax, and Legal). Prepare/administer partnership activities including capital calls, management fees, investment purchases and sales, distribution of cash and securities and reporting of partner capital accounts.

This position calls for an individual with 2+ years of accounting experience; financial statement preparation experience and CPA preferred. Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi task are necessary. We are seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented individual with knowledge of Microsoft products, including Excel.
