Process Analyst (JP-967)

TRANSAMERICA REINSURANCE, a leading life and annuity reinsurer, is looking for a Process Analyst (JP-967) to join our office in Charlotte, NC.  Transamerica Reinsurance is a leading provider of reinsurance and consulting services for companies which underwrite life, annuity and accident & health business.  It maintains reinsurance treaties in the United States, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.

Major Responsibilities:
* Research problems on incoming data from clients - work closely with groups within operations - Data Quality, Data Analysis and Operations Account Analysts to resolve issues quickly
* Impact Analysis on exception resolution of client data prior to loading data to production data repository - thorough understanding of the downstream impacts of data integrity.
* Inform appropriate parties of client reporting issues and anomalies - communicate findings thoroughly and timely.
* Participate in ongoing process improvement efforts - identify opportunities to increase operational efficiency.
* Create & follow-through on Competency Development Plan, resulting in enhanced ability to process the business & serve the customer
* Adhere to unit standards & accurately report the status of unprocessed work
* Utilize instruments and methods for the evaluation and quality control of research or operational data.
* Other duties as required for the position

 

Minimum Requirements:
* BA/BS degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
* 2+ years of experience in Life Insurance / Financial Services with customer / administration experience.
* Demonstrated high performance ratings in past experience
* Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, updating ledger accounts, reconciliation's & accounts payable and receivable processes
* Demonstrated analytical skills; problem identification & resolution skills, must be extremely detail oriented & effective in production-oriented environment
* Exceptional customer orientation skills
* Ability to work independently & as an integral member of a team.  Strong interpersonal skills
* Strong results orientation & organizational, follow-up, & follow-through skills
* Proficient PC spreadsheet skills in a Windows environment, including Word, Excel & Access
* Expertise with databases and spreadsheet programs to perform analytics on data.
* Ability to balance numerous priorities & deadlines while maintaining professionalism at all times.
* Strong oral & written communication skills
* Ability to accurately and completely enter data, extrapolate data and create reports and summaries; ability to summarize information verbally and in writing when required.

 

Desired Characteristics / Skills:
* Experience in insurance/reinsurance accounting
* Knowledge of general premium and claims principles
* Successful completion of FLMI or enrollment in LOMA classes
* Experienced business user of database / spreadsheet applications.
