Project Accountant

 

Scope of Position: This is an ideal opportunity for a career minded individual who would like to develop their career in a growing company.  The position reports directly to the Division Controller and will work closely with other members of the company, including Division Managers.  We are looking for an ?A Player? who is willing to work hard to help our company achieve its goals.  The position will entail overseeing project accounting administration as well as assisting in month and year-end closing activities including, but not limited to, house closings, preparation of the financial statements, journal entries, and preparing project cost schedules.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:  Perform account reconciliationsReview all house closings and record journal entries into accounting system including both revenue and direct costsRecord option revenue and costsPrepared project costs schedules and record journal entriesResponsible for property tax schedules and payment by working with local municipalities and various departmentsMonitor profit margins on options and base houseProvide data for budgeting and estimatingAssist with business plan process on a quarterly basisPrepare capitalized interest schedules and book entries into systemPrepare and process journal entriesCompletion of other month-end related responsibilitiesSpecial projects as assigned

Qualifications:4-year degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or equivalent experienceNo experience necessary, however, some internship or other accounting experience considered a plusHomebuilding or construction experience a plus
