Project Cost Accumulation Analyst

Participate in monthly closing functions to ensure proper recognition of contract sales and cost of sales, and integrity in the Financial Statements. Perform a variety of accounting activities ensuring direct costs are properly accumulated on projects. Process requests for project-to-project cost transfers ensuring such redistributions are properly documented, approved, and executed. Process "interdivision assist" costs in support of the month-end financial closings. Account for required material and fee accruals relative to cross-company purchases. Interface with Program Financial Control, Earned Value Management, Procurement and Interdivisional Finance departments to ensure costs are properly recorded, permitting billings, sales recognition and customer cost reports in accordance with contract provisions. Support various audits and special assignments, resolving issues as required. Maintain desk procedures, departmental procedures, and Sarbanes-Oxley documentation relative to job responsibilities. Cross-train on various functions within the Cost Accounting department, enabling development opportunities and appropriate back-up for key functions.

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years of experience in a related field required.

Strong accounting and analytical skills; Self motivated and capable of working independently as well as in a group environment; strong communication and interpersonal skills; and broad PC-based computer skills and knowledge. SAP experience a plus.
