Major Duties and Functions Include:

 
Receives and processes remittance payments from policyholders and applies to policies, contracts, and/or benefit plans within corporate and legal guidelines.
Receives and processes moderate to complex payments from policyholders and applies them to policies, contracts, and/or benefit plans.
Inputs various forms of payment into systems and ensures payment is processed and properly recorded based upon assigned line of business, account, product area, and/or payment authorization amount.
Reviews billing history and makes determination, within authorized limits and procedures, to credit remittance, apply, suspend, or refund payment.
Investigates billing history and contacts internal administrative units to clarify issues on complex or referred cases and makes appropriate determination.
Reconciles daily transactions and reports discrepancies and delinquencies. Researches and resolves billing, collection, or payment methodology problems.
Receives and responds to telephone and e-mail inquiries from internal and external customers.
Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Typical Experience: High school diploma. 2-4 yrs. related business experience.

Understands basic principals of accounting
Requires knowledge and understanding of the terminology, codes and processes used in a multitude of automated administration, billing and payment processing systems
Requires knowledge and understanding of the principles, procedures and techniques used for the processing of payments and their impact on the enterprise
Accurate data entry skills are required
Strong team player
Quick to learn multiple functions
Ability to work under general supervision and exercise a moderate degree of independent judgement and decision-making to complete assignments
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers on sensitive issues
Able to manage multiple tasks prioritizing effectively, with a strong focus on quality Ability to set priorities and complete work on a daily basis
Good judgment and ability to make decisions is required
This is a high-energy team with daily deadlines with high requirements for accuracy in their daily work
An AA or BA degree is strongly desired
Prior experience in a remittance environment, or an administration environment would be a plus but is not required Work shouldn?t be something you do just to make ends meet. It should provide satisfaction?and an opportunity to make a difference.
