 REIMBURSEMENT ACTIVITIES
?Work directly with institutions to resolve issues related to NovoSeven reimbursement. Provide necessary support and implement plans to overcome barriers to NovoSeven coverage and reimbursement. Notify field sales and medical management of any/all initiatives that could directly or indirectly impact field activity.
?Assist institutions in their appeal to payers in specific cases in order maximize NovoSeven reimbursement.
?Monitor, analyze and report on reimbursement policy changes, legislation and other payer trends, providing input towards the development of plans of action for critical issues and opportunities.
?Work in collaboration with NNI Managed Care and Managed Care Marketing to educate private payer organizations and optimize NovoSeven reimbursement. Improve coverage and reimbursement policies for NovoSeven.
?Conduct lobbying visits in conjunction with Director, BioPharmaceuticals Reimbursement and Government Affairs to legislators to positively impact NovoSeven reimbursement legislation.
?Deliver presentations to high level hospital administrators (CEOs, CFOs) to raise level of understanding of NovoSeven reimbursement and elevate discussion to a higher level than pharmacy/blood bank.
?Develop and maintain a database of critical NovoSeven information related to reimbursement issues, including payer specific policies and trends, account level activities and needs, and legislative developments.
?Research and monitor reimbursement profiles of competitive treatments in areas of NovoSeven. Compile reimbursement trends and reports based on NovoSeven Reimbursement Hotline activity and payer and market research.
?Monitor the market to identify analogous therapeutic areas and applicable products and report results to Director for the utilization of these examples in NovoSeven planning. This work is performed without appreciable direction and exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to the assignment.
?Evaluate potential opportunities across payers and other Novo Nordisk, Inc. products to benefit NovoSeven reimbursement.
?Provides expert insight and contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards within the Reimbursement function.
?Identify and utilize databases to support research and analysis related to NovoSeven? reimbursement.
?Assess and report on reimbursement potential for NovoSeven in future uses.
?Work with other functions as necessary to contribute to the development of NovoSeven strategic and tactical Business Plans.
?Provide reimbursement training as required to other functions in NNI.
?Prepare and implement a focused, comprehensive and prioritized annual business plan based on targets, potential return, and competitive environment in order to optimize NovoSeven reimbursement.

 REPORTING
?Maintain and keep current a back-up file on all account information and communications.
?Develop and submit proposed meeting agendas to manager at least 1 day in advance for all schedule customer appointments.
?Submit timely monthly activity and Monthly Reports, quarterly planned activity and travel itinerary, expense reports and check requests.
?Ensure readiness for monthly budget review and quarterly business plan review meetings.


Reqirements/Skills - ?Bachelors Degree required; MPH or MBA preferred
?Minimum of 10 - 12 years of reimbursement policy and/or payer experience with a pharmaceutical company, health care provider, health care consulting firm or payer
?Demonstrated knowledge and experience in payer (Medicare, Medicaid, and Private) policies, reimbursement process and the health care legislative environment.
?Experience in interacting effectively with payer decision-makers, health care reimbursement professionals and legislators.
?Experience in using clinical data to support reimbursement position in presentations.
?Knowledge of health care provider issues related to reimbursement.
?Excellent verbal and written presentation skills
