This Administrator II position is in Research Administration for the Department of Surgery. This person provides pre-award and post-award coordination of sponsored projects, development, endowment and hard money accounts for the departmental faculty. Prepares budgets, educates investigators regarding procedures and regulations, completes University documents related to sponsored projects, assures certifications of investigators, prepares yearly budgets for funded projects, prepares monthly reports for department, and provides monthly financial reports to faculty. Points of contact include faculty and residents in the Department of Surgery, Divisional Business Managers, the Office of Research, the Dean's Office of the School of Medicine, Research/Cost Accounting, and other University entities. This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field and at least one year of University sponsored project experience, as well as experience with spreadsheet software, database software, basic accounting principles. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as ability to work under deadline pressure in a team environment required.
