Revenue Accountant

Job Objective:

The Revenue Accountant ensures that Zango receives payment from our customers according to contracted terms and conditions.  Provide both out-bound and in-bound phone support in resolving customer payment issues and questions.  Ensure cash is accounted for properly.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

? Review open A/R for all assigned accounts and prioritize collection activities to maximize cash collection.

? Initiate outbound follow-up collection calls on outstanding accounts to resolve unpaid balances. 

? Establish strong working relationships with Sales Team to support collection efforts on key accounts.

? Reconcile cash balances on a regular basis & work with customers in a proactive manner to resolve any discrepancies.

? In partnership with the Revenue & Collections Manager, assist in production of cash reports on a regular basis for company management.

? Research and follow up with customers regarding lost bills or billing questions to ensure that payment is/will be received.

? In partnership with the Revenue & Collections Manager, help establish credit guidelines, systems, processes and tools to increase the timeliness and predictability of payments from Zango?s customers.

? Audit and maintain customer records to make sure terms are accurate and customer profiles have current information.

 

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

? Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience.

? 1-2+ years of collections and/or customer service in a business accounts receivable environment.

? Demonstrated success in receiving payments from clients with outstanding balances in a business to business environment.

? Some experience establishing credit and collection systems, tools and procedures helpful.

? Strong knowledge of MS Office tools. 

? Experience using accounting and/or collections software to track status of customer payments.

? Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact and resolve problems by telephone.

? Demonstrated ability to be assertive and tenacious when dealing with customers.

? Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong attention to details.
