SEC Reporting - Accounting Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will work closely with the Controller and Corporate Consolidation Accountant to support external SEC reporting, internal management reporting and global consolidation.  This person will also assist with interpreting accounting pronouncements, analyzing the impact on Merix, developing accounting policy and the communication and implementation of these policies on a global basis. Candidates must have strong analytic skills and good general understanding of the reporting process.  The position requires the management of multiple special projects that will require interaction with other functional areas of the Company. Candidates must be comfortable working in a team-oriented environment and be flexible to adapt to department growth.

 

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Staff accountant to: Assist with external & internal financial reporting.  Assist with monthly consolidation process.  Assist with analysis and interpretation of accounting pronouncements.  Assist with communication and implementation of policy changes.  Drive special projects.

 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

 

General accounting and account analysis experience.  3+ years of experience in public accounting or 4+ years of industry accounting experience.  Experience with SEC reporting required. BA in Accounting or related experience. CPA a plus.  Self-starter, ability to work on multiple projects with limited supervision.  Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to work in a team environment.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

Some overtime and travel required.
