SENIOR ACCOUNTANT/AUDITOR I


ANNUAL SALARY
$48,131.00- $64,896.00

 

The Superior Court of California, County of Orange, offers an exceptional opportunity to join the management team of the fifth largest court in the United States. Our court is a unified trial court with 109 judges and 34 commissioners located in 7 Justice Centers throughout the county. We have a staff of over 1,600 and an operating budget in excess of $170 million. The court's judicial officers and employees are recognized for their high standards of achievement, integrity and diversity.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:Recommends operating policies and procedures to verify accuracy and effectiveness of accounting records;

 Supervises subordinate professional and clerical personnel; organizes, assigns and reviews work; assists in training new employees and evaluates performance;

 Reviews, analyzes and recommends improvements to functions involving fiscal operations, including accounting systems, records and procedures;

 Recommends and implements changes to meet court, county, State and/or other legal requirements;

 Actively participates in the development and implementation of new financial systems that may be implemented by the Court.

 Prepares ad hoc financial analysis reports and may be called upon to present and discuss such reports in meetings and/or training settings.

 

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

Two (2) years of professional accounting and/or auditing experience, which demonstrates possession of the knowledge and abilities listed on our Court employment website 
AND


Graduation from a college with a BA degree in accounting or closely related field to have included thirty-six (36) semester or equivalent quarter units in elementary, intermediate and advanced accounting, auditing, cost accounting, business law and other related business courses.
