SENIOR ACCOUNTANT - Downtown Houston

Our client, a large international company in the Houston area, is currently seeking to add a Senior Accountant to their team on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities will include:
- Recording all journal entries, inclduing all month-end accruals.
- Performing accounting for leases for the regional departments.
- Reviewing monthly corporate department P&L, preparation of variance analysis.
- Preparation of related balance sheet accounting reconciliations
- Assisting Financial Planning & Analysis in preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Responsible for all aspects of accounting, reporting, and coordinating with cash management and bank reconciliation process for Texas.


Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Acccounting REQUIRED
* 3-5 years of Accounting experience in public or private industry accounting.
* Public Accounting experience preferred.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills; must have demonstrated previous ability to communicate with all level of internal and external customers.
* Good working knowledge of GAAP and experience with complex GAAP issues.
* Experience with JD Edwards, Peoplesoft, or a similar ERP system preferred.
