SENIOR ACCOUNTANT/INVESTMENT ACCOUNTANT

Job Type Accounting/Finance Job Location Illinois-ChicagoJob Title SENIOR ACCOUNTANT/INVESTMENT ACCOUNTANT Job Description Fund of Funds investment company seeking a 2-4 year experienced accountant to work directly with the Controller and CFO.  Responsibilities include:

ACCOUNTING FUNCTIONS:Prepare journal entries, financial statements, account reconciliations and bank reconciliations. Manage and maintain general ledger, revenue expense reports. Perform account analysis, variance analysis and special projects.Determination of accounts payable and accounts receivable.Assist Controller in recording of all entity's accounting records and reports.Maintain and upkeep of monthly estimates and final returns from investments.Assist Controller in maintaining all records relating to hedge fund investments, allocation of income to the partners, andpreparation of monthly statements to the partners. Preparation of monthly financial statements and cash sources and uses statements for CFO, president/owner of the companies. Preparation of year end tax reports such as 1099 forms.

FINANCE FUNCTIONS:Perform due diligence of perspective hedge fund investments.Execute financial analysis and accounting support necessary to assist Portfolio Manager with schedule of allocations.Oversee and maintain spreadsheets and reports pursuant to compliance requirements.Create ad hoc reports and financial analytics for Portfolio Manager
Job Requirements Candidate will be/have:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance GPA: 3.20
2-4 years accounting/finance experience
Very detailed oriented
Able to see the big picture
Excellent work paper preparation skills and communication skills, written and oral Experience with financial ratios and calculations
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel as well as accounting software programs such as Quickbooks and Quicken.
