SENIOR ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the nation's oldest and most effective one to one youth mentoring organization, is implementing a strategic vision calling for dramatic growth.  Effective accounting practices and fiscal management are essential parts of achieving our goal to provide a positive mentoring experience for all children who need and want one.  We seek an analytical and detail-oriented professional to assume this vital role. JOB SUMMARY:  The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for the management of BBBSA fiscal functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.  He or she will proactively provide checks and balances pertaining to all expenditures and expense requests, resolving all matters in conflict with BBBSA policy or practice.  He or she will stay abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance for the finance functions.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 

The Senior Accounting Manager will be a detail-oriented, analytical thinking individual, with strong project management skills.  He or she will have a consistent attitude and respect for high quality standards, showing concern for all aspects of the job.  The successful candidate will exude strong communication skills, proactively sharing information in a timely fashion.  He or she will show initiative, having a bias for taking action where appropriate.  This position requires the ability to maintain high performance under pressure and deadlines. 

 

The Senior Accounting Manager will also possess the following:BS degree in Accounting from an accredited four (4) year institution 4-7 years accounting experience CPA or CMA designation, or candidate Solid knowledge of GAAP accounting.  Ability to interpret accounting guidelines Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, MS Word Strong understanding of accounting cycles including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.
