SOX Manager/Audit Director

POSITION DESCRIPTION 

The person filling the Financial Reporting Manager position will be a valued member of the accounting and finance team. The position will be based at company's headquarters in the City of Industry, about 30 minutes from downtown Los Angeles, CA. 

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Manage SOX compliance process. Lead planning, documentation and testing of key controls. 2. Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, make recommendations and implement controls, policies and guidelines for better operational control. 3. Regularly review internal controls for weaknesses, evaluate the consistency of procedures and their application across various business units, assess the level of risk inherent in each business process and report findings to management to support Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 certifications. 4. Supervise the internal audit process and develop new auditing practices.  5. Develop SOX documentation and testing plans. 6. Coordinate Sarbanes-Oxley Audit(s) with External Auditors/Internal Audit Services. 7. Manage special projects regarding internal audit and internal process improvement. 8. Examine, investigate and review records, reports, financial information and management practices to ensure legal compliance with applicable laws and internal regulations. 9. Keep abreast of changes in SOX and accounting regulations and comparable firms? methods for SOX compliance. 

 

Experience & Qualifications:  Bachelor?s degree in Accounting. 7 or more years of prior internal audit and external audit/consulting experience. Expertise, knowledge and experience in Sarbanes-Oxley control work or integrated audits. Recent corporate experience with SOX and internal control responsibilities. Ability to review documentation and flowcharting of existing business processes and internal controls. Experience with ERP systems and SAP experience highly desired. Strong project management abilities on cross-functional projects required. Strong analytic and organizational skills.

Salary/Pay Rate: up to $130K + 10-25% bonus
